looking for short let / holiday rentals? for a week!!

we're heading to London this sep.. and will be staying for a week (5 days, exactly)

i don't want a hotel service.. i'd just like to feel like i'm living there like i did 6 years ago! (buying groceris at sainsbury and cooking, etc.)

so i was looking into this short let/holiday rentals but i saw some obvious fraud owners.. and i read a lot of stories about them on this forum as well.. now i'm worrying :(

so could you recommend good sites that offer a nightly/weekly rental?

Thanks a lot. :)

Avoid anybody advertising on Craigslist or GumTree. Avoid anybody who is requesting any form of up front payment using Western Union or any other wire transfer service. Avoid anybody who is quoting a telephone number starting with 07, only go for a company that has a dedidcated land line - these will have numbers starting with 01, 02 or 03 or maybe 08.

If they have a web site that shows a property with an address have a look on Google Streetview to see if the property looks the same as the one in the photot.

Finally the absolute golden rule. If any deal seems too good to be true, it is more than likely a scam

We rented a lovely flat from Ivy Lettings last year. Their service was very good and the flat was even better than it appeared on-line.
