Train to Stonehenge

As best I can tell the first train from London will get me to Salisbury shorting after 8:00. Is that correct?

(I am looking for options to arrive in time for a 6:45 inner stone access tour)

Cheers

Unless you want a long distance taxi go the previous evening

Most trains in the UK do not operate during the night. Best to stay in a hotel in Salisbury, then take a taxi to Stonehenge.

You'll have to either travel the night before or rent a car the day before and leave London very very early. If you travel the night before you'll either need a rented car or a taxi in the morning.

If someone wouldn't mind humouring me any idea what a cab would cost from London the day of(I don't mind the early hour)

I'm sure its astronomical, I just want to explore all options.

london cab will cost you about £330 one way. private hire will be cheaper but you're probably still looking at £200 plus.

Another suggestion, you could go on one of the tours from London that does sunrise inner access.
