Question about accommodations for one night stay

My brother will be flying in to London on Heathrow…and will stay one night. The next afternoon he will fly out of Stansted to Denmark. He arrives at noon in London on June 25th (next week!!!) and June 26th will fly out. He doesn't have a room yet…where would be a good place to stay in London to possibly see a few sights on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning (possibly museums etc)…and what will be the best way for him to get to the airport (Stansted) the next day? He is looking for something nice but not fancy (reasonably priced). He has never been to London...

His flight the next day is at 2:30…so not sure how much time he will need to allow himself to get to the airport...

He hasn't got much time for sightseeing, especially on the day of departure as he would need to be at the airport at 12.30 so leave London about 10.30/11 am.

He could look at the Kings Cross/Euston/Bloomsbury area with good access to tube and rail for STN. Premier inn have several properties and are a reliable budget chain.

Would it be better to do a little sight seeing on Wednesday afternoon...and stay Wednesday night closer to Stansted airport?

He would definitely have more time on Wed pm as he should be in central London around 2pm assuming no major delays either on the flight or at the airport. He doesn't need to stay near STN unless he wants to or finds a good hotel deal there as there's plenty of time to go up in the morning.
