Best DLR route for views and sights

Hello,

I want to use the DLR at some point. We'll be in Greenwich one day and might be going back for the Crystal and the Thames Barrier Park on another. Thinking we will ride the DLR back from one of those. We'll be staying in Waterloo but can jump on any other transport to eventually get back to there, so the Central London end point isn't really an issue, I'm just trying to see which part of the DLR might be the most fun to ride.

Thanks!

The line from Tower Gateway to Greenwich/Lewisham would be my choice.

There isn't a specific "best route", as there are things to view on all the routes.

The Greenwich section gives you Canary Wharf and Island Gardens. Use the Greenwich Foot Tunnel to cross the river.

The Woolwich Arsenal section gives you a great view of the Thames barrier (get off at Pontoon Dock).

The Beckton section gets you a better view of City Airport than City Airport station itself.

And of course you have Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park which can be viewed from the Poplar-Stratford section (and the view tube at Pudding Mill Lane). Or you can travel to Stratford and enter the Park there.

Whichever train route you use try to bag the front sets in the front carriage as they have best views.
