Beer from UK to US

Does anyone know how much beer I can bring back from the UK into the US. The UK websites are very helpful on what I can bring in there but the US Customs site is pretty vague. Thanks

Federal Law -One litre, duty free. As much a you want (subject to state law) if you pay duty and taxes. Provided the alcohol is for personal use.

Maryland Law - Four quarts maximum. One quart is duty free and you pay state tax on the other 3.

Maryland Law - What is considered an alcoholic beverage?

An alcoholic beverage is defined as having ½ of 1 percent of alcohol by volume or greater. This equals 1 proof.

And you would have to put it in your checked luggage as you could not carry on that much liquid unless you intend to purchase it airside.
