7 day travel cards bought at Heathrow - passport photo?

So if you buy the 7 day travel cards at Heathrow, do you need passport photos?

Instructions I can find seem unclear - yes needed since 2012 but not if bought at underground stations? Heathrow is an underground station and so they aren't needed there? Or are now...?

You don't need a photo to buy a travelcard at Heathrow. It will come on an Oyster Card and will not be eligible for the 2for1 offers.

A photo is not needed - but the travelcards will be loaded onto an Oyster card so not valid for the 2 for 1 offers

I have an Oyster Card but think the 7-day Travel Card is going to work out more economical. Can I buy the 7-day Travel Card at Heathrow to use to get to my hotel? I have also read that it gets "loaded" on to the Oyster card, is this true and how do I go about loading it?

Sorry if this question has been asked before, I have read through the notes, and couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.

Thank you for any assistance you can give.

You present your Oyster card at Heathrow either by handing to the person at the ticket window or touching it to the yellow circle on the ticket machine and buy a seven-day travel card. The travelcard will be added to the Oyster card. (If at a ticket machine, remember to touch the card again at the end of the transaction.) The Oyster card will then not deduct any pay-as-you-go credit when you make journeys covered by the travelcard.

Yes you can buy a 7 day travel card at Heathrow for immediate use

It will be loaded on to your Oyster card by the ticket seller when you buy it if that's what you ask him to do.
