Westminster Abbey on a Tuesday afternoon

sorry for asking so many picky questions. I am trying to "tweak" our itinerary to make the most of our time without over-doing it.

If we show up to Westminster Abbey on a Tuesday afternoon around 1:30 in October, how much of a wait do you think there will be?

I realize this is just about as ridiculous as my weather question but I am just trying to get a general idea.

Thank you!

I'd also check the Abbey website as they sometimes close to tourists for special services.

If you can fit in the London Walks tour on a Monday, you don't have to wait in line at all. You walk straight in.

Thank you for the great fun, but is there anybody else willing to comment a bit more seriously? I am just curious if it is usually a 2 hour wait year-round in the afternoon? If so we will need to work something else out.

Thanks for the tip about the London Walks tour, Bungle.

The reason you are getting so many flippant answers is that this is very much a how long is a piece of string question - one that just cannot be answered with any degree of accuracy.

The only think I would say is that half term week (27th-31st for most schools) will probably be busier than the weeks either side. Or it may not...

We were in London from July 12 - 17 and went to Westminster Abbey on a Thursday morning (kinda sorta like a Tuesday, right?); we got there around 11:00 a.m. We walked right in. There were quite a lot of people, but no real line to speak of. We spent maybe three minutes in line to pay and get an audio headset but then we had the run of the beautiful church. There was more of a line at the hot dog stand right outside the church. It was a wonderful experience and everyone touring was very polite and quiet. You will have a great time.
