Afternoon in London

Hi, we will have time in London after doing harry potter world on Monday morning. We have a ticket from St Albans to kings cross, is Watford on the same route or will we need to get back to St Albans to use the ticket to get to kings cross?

Also any suggestions what to do in London for approx six hours. We will have luggage. We fancied the childhood museum in Bethnal Green as daughter is a huge Jacqueline Wilson fan. Anywhere reasonable we could leave luggage? We need to get back to Euston....

I'm not sure how a rail ticket from St Albans to King's Cross fits in here, as trains from St Albans terminate at London St Pancras (admittedly, adjacent to KX).

Trains from Euston travel to Watford Junction, but will your start point be central London or St Albans? Are you making the journey on Monday 28 July or another Monday? 'We will have luggage' - how many pieces? Are you travelling with your daughter only, or is 'we' a party of four or more? At what time have you booked the tour near Watford Junction, and at what time does your train to Unknown Destination leave London?

Please let us know considerably more, as right now I suspect you would like to know how to fill six hours of time, but even that's not clear from your post.

Hi

we are staying in st albans and have a harry potter tour booked at 09.30 on 28/7 and from there will return to london - our train tickets are from st albans to Manchester via London. there will be 4 of us, 2 adults and 2 children with either 4 small pieces of luggage or 2 big depending on what will work better!

What are you going to do with the bags while you are visiting Harry Potter?

Edit: I see they have a cloakroom.

OK, so here's a plan:

- Travel from where you are staying in St Albans to the Studio in Leavesden (have you worked out yet how you are going to do this?)

- Leave bags in cloakroom and visit tour.

- Reclaim bags and take shuttle bus to Watford Junction (£1.50 per person, pay driver)

- Buy one-day travelcards at Watford Junction. These will give you travel into London Euston plus unlimited travel around London.

- Leave bags at left luggage in Euston Station (charges per item, so the fewer the better).

- Go off and do whatever in London. if you want to get to Bethnal Green use the Northern Line (Bank branch) then the Central Line. The Museum of Childhood is two minutes walk from Bethnal Green Underground and clearly signposted inside the Station.

- Return to Euston, reclaim bags and catch train to Manchester.
