traditional pub?

Tomorrow I will be meeting some American friends and taking them to some tourist hot spots for the day.

During the day I want to take them to a good English pub maybe on a stop of covent garden, any suggestions? I heard the harp is a good choice??

Thanks

The Harp is a good choice with real beer and cider. Warn your American friends that our cider is alcoholic.

The Harp is great for beer and just yards from Trafalgar Square. The Lamb & Flag is closer to Covent Garden and has more history. Both will be very busy.

Above are the top suggestions.

There is also on the Strand:-

Usually very busy and noisy, but possibly what might be expected with an interesting history.

The Harp is, as mentioned, scarily busy. I'd walk a bit further east and head to the Seven Stars in Carey St. Is it as convenient as Covent Garden ? No. Is it easy to find ? Certainly not ! Is it worth that extra effort for your friends ? I'd say so. Do they have a pub cat ? www.yelp.co.uk/biz/seven-stars-london-3

Personally, I find that UK Cider is better with such dishes as Fish & Chips, but that is personal tastes.

Also, UK Ciders are very interesting, unlike many such beverages in the US.

Enjoy,

Absolutely! Apart from the OP and friend, Argyle Mikey, His Lordship and me (and given the neighborhood probably Leagle) the Seven Stars is one to avoid! :-)))
