Amount to put on Oyster card?

We (wife & I) are arriving LHR at noon on a Friday. Our hotel is near the Earls court station. We plan to use tube to visit sites on Sat & Sun. Monday we fly out of Gatwick for Venice.

1. How much is the Piccadilly line from LHR & Earls court.

2. Max daily charges using Oyster is 8.80 Pounds

3. How much would a cab be from Earls court area to Victoria station (Southern line or Gatwick express?)

4. How much should I put on each card?

Weekends are off peak at all times, so the daily cap for travel in zones 1 and 2 for your two full days in London will be £7. The cap for arrival on Friday will depend on how much travel you do after having taken the Tube from Heathrow to Earl's Court - the off peak single Oyster fare for the Piccadilly line journey will be £1.50.

Adding £25 of PAYG pre-pay should be enough for your stay, but if you need to add a bit more to the cards you may do so by touching in at a Tube ticket machine and following the on screen instructions.

Depending on the time of day your flight departs from Gatwick you may avoid Victoria altogether. Take a taxi or walk to West Brompton station and take the Overground to Clapham Junction - pay for that journey using PAYG on Oyster. An off peak single from Clapham Junction to Gatwick will cost just £10.80 per person.
