Suggestions for over Christmas with teenager

Hi all,

I wondered if you might have any suggestions as to a Pantomime that would be enjoyable for a teenager, there are so many! Also looking for advise as far as attractions that might be of particular interest to a young man who is blind. We have booked some special tours thus far at Tower of London, British Museum, Churchill War rooms and a concert at Royal Albert Hall and will definitely be visiting Westminster Abbey and St. Paul's but now kind of stuck as to which to select for our last few days, don't want to miss anything or make the wrong choice so would be most grateful for any input.

This might be a fun choice of restaurant as everyone is in the dark http://london.danslenoir.com/

Might be interesting to see what is available here https:/…

Perhaps a trip to a comedy club www.comedycarnival.co.uk/…

A turkish bath spa-london.org/ironmonger-row-baths/…

I have not been to the sensory garden here but another possibility www.imperialwharf.com/index.cfm?articleID=160

Contact the British Museum and see what is available britishmuseum.org/learning/access/visually_i…

and possibly other museums http://www.vocaleyes.co.uk/page.asp?section=89&sectionTitle=Museums+Galleries+and+Heritage+Sites

These people might be a better source of advice http://www.rlsb.org.uk/get-in-touch

Re the panto--we've seen many over the years in London and the surrounding areas and have enjoyed them all. I suspect that familiarity with the story (Cinderella, etc) would be helpful but not necessary. Perhaps make your choice based on location of venue and how easy/hard it would be to get there, stars who are appearing (we've seen some well-known people and have enjoyed that) and just what sounds fun to you. We actually have a theater company here in Houston that in recent years has done a pantomime during the Christmas season (Oh, yes we do! :-) ). At first the audience was largely made up of British ex-pats and people like us who have lived in the UK but now it has a much broader audience and has become a sought-after ticket.

http://www.vocaleyes.co.uk/default.asp?section=2&sectionTitle=Home%3A++Welcome+to+VocalEyes+%2D+description+of+the+arts

This website has links to information about museums and galleries that offer services for the partially sighted and the blind.

Have just pasted the link but not sure it works but Google Vocal Eyes London and you should find the page.

The Museum of London is part of the Vocaleyes project, and has other services for people with visual impairment.

Is the blind person the same one who is going to the pantomime? There were some with audio description around London last season but I'm not sure whether there were any in London itself, although inclusive theatre company Chickenshed had a not-quite panto, chickenshed.org.uk/1761/shows/sleeping-beaut… Other theatres do sometimes have audio description for their regular shows.

Yes, sorry I wasn't clear the person going to the pantomime and the attractions is my teenage son who is blind. Thank you, I had no idea that the audio description was available at the theatres (we have had it only rarely here) so that has got me started looking for that.
