Daily Travel Card - another question

Can you buy more than one daily travel card at once? We will be in London for 4 days, so on our first day can we each buy 4 Daily Travel Cards or do we have to go to the train station each day?

Are the daily travel cards date stamped? Thanks for your help.

You can normally buy several days at once - but a busy ticket office may be reluctant and only willing to issue for immediate travel

Travelcards have the date they are valid on printed (and coded onto a mag stripe) at the time of issue

For 4 days a weekly card could be better though

You will be better off buying a weekly travel card. You will need to bring a passport size photo with you. Make sure you buy them at the national rail station so you can take advantage of the 2-4-1 deals.

4 one day cards will cost £36 while a weekly card will be £31.40 and no need to revisit the station to buy a new one.

Note that the photo just needs to be passport size, not passport quality--you can even print it at home.

A seven day (weekly) travelcard for zones 1-2 will be cheaper than four daily off peak travelcards. Note you are zone restricted (on the tube, DLR, Overground and National Rail) with the seven day z1-2 card. That may be okay for you, as most of the major attractions are inside z1-2, but just to make the distinction clear.

if it's not exactly passport size the clerk will scissor the picture to fit size needed.

Usually you can find a photo machine near by...
