Where can I play petanque/boules in London?

I have the balls. I need a court. (I think it's called a court!)

Do any Central London parks have free, public access petanque/boules courts?

Thank you.

I know there's a pitch in Hays Galleria, near London Bridge Station. I think you have to book it via Balls Brothers Wine Bar.

Cheers, Chris. No availability for my dates. And, besides, it all looks a bit formal. I'd love to believe there's somewhere in one of our main parks.

I think Hyde Park's hasn't been maintained. And there's one in Primrose Hill but that's too far.

Thank you, EalingBlue, but I'm really looking for somewhere closer than Kennington. Nice spot, though, thank you.

Closer to where?

According to www.walkit.com EalingBlue's recommended pub is only 1.3 miles from Big Ben so it's pretty central. I'd suggest going there and asking them for any information if we don't come up with anything.

Closer to the Central London parks, Eclectic_Angel, that I asked for in my opening post.

NWKent - What happened?

You posted, duplicated, edited the duplicate and then, 40 minutes later, edited the first post (I thought we only had 5 minutes and only if another post hadn't been made), then decided to remove that first post.

Did you have any information for me? :)

And now, call me mad, but the posts have switched places in the time it took me to compose my previous reply!

Hi

Couple of things...

I woke up a bit early and did not read post 4 correctly and I recommended Cleaver Square in Kennington, not spotting you were looking for something closer..

Duplicate - trying to write in a mobile device v pc Tripadvisor (or user error) so things somethines do not go so well.

Having thought about it...

Kennington is not that far and is a lovely setting;

There is Barnard Park in N1, but that may be too far.

This link is a bit old, but the venues may still be OK - I have not been to them to see if they are still playable.
