Belsize Park is a continuation of Hampstead which is one of the best areas in NW London and is perfectly safe.
From Belsize Park it is an uphill walk to Hampstead with lovely shops and restaurants.
Belsize Park also has a reasonable selection of restaurants.
From Belsize Park it is probably under 7 mins by bus to Camden Town with their markets etc.
And from the tube station 10 mins or so to Central London.
Very nice, smart and leafy
There is also a lovely walk down to parliament hill /primrose hill with a great view of the london skyline overlooking london zoo, its one of my favourite walks
very safe, and posh! Many celebs live in this area.
'Many celebs live in this area'
As did one of Britain's most notorious serial killers !!
One of London's safest and more pleasant areas IMO.
Frankly, the only part of London I wouldn't go to on foot is Peckham at night. the rest is just fine. Anyone saying London is scary is mis-informed in my opinion, and I've lived here for longer than I would like to say. If I was on holiday I would'nt stay in Belsize Park, as it's really out from things, but otherwise fine.
I loved Hampstead and the Heath. Want to go back!
I like Blackheath and Greenwich Park better, but I'm a south of the river boy.
