Attraction

We are off to norwich this weekend. Does anyone know if there is a place just outside norwich that has a place where you can buy walnut whips i have been told they are at discount prices. Is it an attraction there?

Thanks

Well this is certainly a first. A question about walnut whips on a travel forum!. Not particularly near Norwich, but in Norfolk, Fakenham has a chocolate wholesale shop attached to the Alldis store in the town centre which definitely sells walnut whips and lots of other chocolate as well. Also has a nice new Wetherspoons if you would like some cheap food and drink while you are there.

Hi Sue and welcome.

There used to be a Chocolate factory in Norwich. It was originally Caley's, which was taken over by Makintosh, which was taken over by Nestle, who make Walnut Whips. I don't know if they sold off seconds cheap though. Unfortunately for you Sue it was closed in the 1990s and demolished in about 2003 to make way for a shopping centre. Sorry!

Yes, I’d guess you mean the Kinnerton factory in Aldis shop in Fakenham ( about 25 miles west of Norwich) They used to have a shop in the factory next door but now have one inside Aldis department store. Prices are really cheap & you can buy bags of walnut whips for about £1! Lots of ends of season lines ( eg Christmas stuff at the moment) They make chocolate for M&S (amongst others) so you will probably see a fair bit of this too - some real bargains for chocolate lovers!
