Whitby question

Hi

My boyfriend and I are planning a midweek journey to Whitby in May. Looking for a cheap but CLEAN B&B or hotel for our stay. Somewhere central, easy to get to from public transport (we don't drive), and preferably gay friendly! Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any help.

Jx

ps. What's the quickest way to get there from Scarborough?

Bus from Scarborough wouldn't take much longer than a taxi and would be a lot cheaper

Right outside the train station is the bus stop for the Whitby bus. It takes about one hour, but its a nice ride over the moors.

I know we've wandered off the point but . . .

You can also get off the train at malton and corss over the road to get the Coastliner bus through Pickering up over the Moors to Whitby.

Maybe I'm wrong. But I would think they will be taking the train that go's to Hull then up to Scarborough.

Try the Number 5 Guesthouse - we stayed there every year when Musicport was at Whitby - great late breakfasts! I believe they would be gay frendly

You could well be right, Ian, abouth their choice of route. however, the Transpennine Express runs direct from Liverpool - Manchester - Leeds - York - Malton - Scarborough and takes about three hours.

I safarifiend.

I did not know about that route. The only one that seams to get "pushed" around here is the Manchester to Scarborough via Hull.

I not a big train person, but saying that I'm off to Skipton by train tomorrow.

jonnybaby, recently stayed at Argyle House, which was very nice and well located for central Whitby (probably about 10 minutes walk from the train station):

Also, gay friendly as there was a gay couple staying at the same time.
