Walk suggestions? Good walker but scared of heights!

Can anyone make a suggestion? Sounds like the walk to Robin Hood's Bay has a lot of cliff edges. Is the walk to Runswick Bay any different? Or else are there any nice walks further inland? Looking for a walk around 3 hours long. Thanks in advance

The walk to RHB is fairly close to the cliff edges at times, I believe the coastal walk to Runswick Bay is similar (as you can see from the photos on this webiste: http://www.docbrown.info/docspics/whitby/wspage24.htm).

However, you can also walk to/from Runswick via the old railway line inland, as detailed here:

Alternatively, there are plenty of fantastic walks around Goathland on the North Yorks Moors.

It's mostly cliff-top along the Cleveland Way (north to Sandwick and south of Whitby, to Brid)).

Why not try parts the Coast to Coast path, which starts/finishes in Robin Hoods Bay?.

The rest of the Cleveland Way (and C2C) goes around the North York Moors, and has some wonderful sections, with views across the Vale of York.

My advice is to walk along the old railway line from Whitby to Robins Hoods bay - it's known as the Cinder Path. It's a lovely walk and not on the cliff edge at all. We took the bus back to Whitby from RHB. The path goes onto Scarborough but that's about 20 miles !

Some details here

you can click on a map and leaflet

We started from the Caedmon School, go round the playing fields (it's a public footpath) over the old viaduct (great views) and just keep following the path to RHB - lovely ! I don't like the coastal path as it gets very busy and the dog has to stay on his lead due to the cliff edges.
