Staying in Whitby

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a hotel, guesthouse or cottage on the flat in Whitby town centre?

My husband cannot do the walk back to the hotels on the hillside.

Thanks for any help.

Hi,

Shephers purse is really nice. Stayed there some time ago. Very central too. I think there are ground floor rooms so if steps/stairs are a problem this might be of help?? Think there will probably be a review somewhere on here!!

Both the Marine and the Duke of York offer rooms and are in the harbour area on the flat so may suit.

you can also hire mobility scooters from the tourist info office, worth noting because there are some nice independent shops up flowergate / skinner street, silver street.

Thanks for info. Have checked out the Marine and the Moon and Sixpence but am afraid they are both too expensive.

The Duke of York sounds promising though. Will contact them for availability.

Thanks to all for great info.
