My husband and I stayed in the Exhibition Inn in York on Saturday 3 March 2010 and we really enjoyed it. We decided to go at very short notice and I didn’t think we would be able to get booked anywhere but luckily the Exhibition managed to squeeze us in for £75 for both of us for bed and breakfast, When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely friendly young lad from behind the bar who signed us in and then after about a 5 minute wait ushered us up the stairs to our room. Unfortunately it was still being cleaned - this in itself was not a problem because we had arrived early - but we were allowed to leave our bags in the room and I was really disappointed when I first saw it (room 5). It was very small, although nice and clean and comfortable, but the worst thing was that the only window in the room was very small and was so high up in the room it was almost on the ceiling which made for a very dark bedroom. Saying that we only used it to shower and sleep in so we managed to put up with it. After a lovely night out we had a restful night and woke up to a lovely breakfast served in the very pleasant conservatory by a young girl who just could not do enough for you. She was really pleasant and waited on us hand and foot. So, to sum up, I would definitely stay there again, the location is just about perfect and the service was excellent, but I would ask for a room at the front of the building facing the street.
