luxury hotel in york

Hi, need some help/information in choosing a hotel in york that has a spa/pool and steam room etc. I have looked at many sites for hotels that look amazing but have bad reviews.

Any help is appreciated, thanks,

Karen

Which hotels in particular? I'm generally inclined to take online reviews with a pinch of salt - I've seen too many awful reviews of hotels that I *know* to be consistently good.

The new Cedar Court Hotel in the centre is luxurious and expensive to boot but its spa is new and top of the range.

The Marriott has a gym with single sex saunas attached to the changing rooms and is perhaps a little less young.

The Mount Royale is also believed to have a Spa and pampering days since some of my guests booked with my B&B last Saturday and had got an online deal for a day of pampering at the Mount Royale Spa for the Sunday.

If you are prepared to be a little outside the city Middlethorpe Hall ticks all the boxes and has grounds to walk in as well.

I would agree with chesterbuff Middlethorpe Hall is in a league of its own but also the price is .The Mount Royale is friendly and good value but wouldn't put it in the luxury bracket.
