Village to stay near Northampton

Hi

My partner & I are coming over for a day at the international raceway in Northampton. We know we can stay at a chain hotel in Northampton but are looking for a quaint village / hamlet closeby where we can stay at a small hotel / b&b so we can go to the pub for some ale and experience that side of England

Anyone any reccommendations ?

Hi Little miss,

Two good pub with rooms options would be either the Red Lion in east Haddon http://www.redlioneasthaddon.co.uk/ or the Walnut Tree in Blisworth http://www.walnut-tree.co.uk/

Both have village locations and are lovely old pubs with good quality rooms (in fact they are quite sophisticated and 'pubs with rooms' seems an inadequate description really.

Otherwise, and a bit closer to the racetrack, you go for the Worlds End in Ecton http://www.theworldsend.org/ this is another nice place but the hotel is in a modern block alonhside the old pub building.

Hope these help.

O
