Restaurant with music/entertainment

Hello

A group of us (approx 8) are coming to Nottingham later in the year, and are looking for a restaurant that serves a nice mix of food (steaks, fish, lasagne etc) and that has music (either a band, live act or just music in an area where you can dance after the meal without leaving the building).

The age range in the group will be 25-55 so not too hen/stag party like. Budget £15-£20 per main course.

I'm thinking something probably like The Living Room but wondered if there was anywhere more independent rather than a chain restaurant. We also looked at Saltwater Rocket but the menu looked a bit limited (seems to be lots of salad! Unless anyone has eaten here and can tell me if it's more of a side salad lol)

We are staying at the Crowne Plaza so something in walking distance or easy access on the trams would be good.

Thanks

Laura

There's plenty of bars and restaurants in the Cornerhouse. Revolution and Slug and Lettuce both good options and reasonably priced.

Hi both

Thank you for your replies. We have chain restaurants like Revolution and Slug and Lettuce by where I live so was looking for something more independent. We wanted something abit more upmarket / less 'studenty'

Looks like we are going to struggle finding what we are after. But thank you anyway.

Bistro Live might be a good option. The food is really nice and they have live music and themed nights. You would need to book in advance. Really good for large groups.

I can't think of anywhere which fits exactly what you are looking for.

However, if you like jazz this place has been recommended to me recently.

Spanky Van Dykes may suit: http://www.spankyvandykes.com

Another is Glee Club: http://www.glee.co.uk/eating

And not forgetting: http://www.jamcafe.info/events/live-music/

Depending on when you're planning on coming, my local in Beeston (a 5 min train hip journey from Nottingham) does excellent food and has live music several times a week. They have a great festival in the summer: http://www.victoriabeeston.co.uk their menu is extensive and has amazing vegetarian options too.

I hope you have a great time here - feel free to PM me if you have any questions. J x

I'd agree with Briggs2806 The Riverbank.

Or better still the approach just around the corner from your hotel?
