It's easy to get from Southampton to Oxford. Trains are every thirty minutes and the journey takes about ninety mins. Oxford premier inn is about three miles out of the city centre, there are buses if you prefer that to a taxi

Actually the bus service to the Premier Inn is a little more complicated than implied above. The bus service that runs along the Garsington Road runs every hour up to about 6pm Monday to Saturday - and departs from St Aldates which is about 10/15 mins walk from the train station. Timetable here thames-travel.co.uk/bus101/bus101_mf_june12.…

There are alternative buses - but these stop about 5 mins from the Premier Inn - full details in this thread:

Taxi might be an easier option.

Thanks all

I have done some homework and if we get the train its £30 return on the way back we have to get a coach for 35 min then get a train.

If we get the coach it £15 takes a bit longer but no stops .There 6 of us so it would be cheaper to get taxi at the other end.
