Wedding reception venue Oxford

We are looking for a reception venue in or around oxford for 50-60 guests with a budget of £100 per head maximum.

Would like somewhere with pretty interior eg.barn or older building.

Does anyone have any tips?

Also has anyone got married at Kingston Bagpuize?

Thank you!

I suggest you find a local wedding planner to talk to. I know a lot of people who have used Isobel Weddings and have been very happy with her. http://www.isobelweddings.com/

Lains Barn near Wantage might suit your needs; it's a very popular wedding venue. http://www.lainsbarn.co.uk/

Try a website like: weddingvenues.com/weddings-venues-Oxford-0.h…

I used sites like this when I planned my wedding ..... it gives you an overall picture and then you can visit specific places once you've got a short list.

p.s some of the colleges of Oxford University are available too. Some only open to Alumni and some only certain times of year. But see:

if it takes your fancy! I went to one a couple of years ago and we had a great hall, bit Harry Potter for the dinner.

If it's a summer reception then The Long Gallery, Abingdon, might be an option.

Another venue in Abingdon is Cosener's House; part of it's a very old building and it's tucked away on the edge of the town with gardens running down to the River Thames. We attended a really lovely wedding reception there in the summer and the bride and groom were very impressed with the assistance and service throughout.

The official website doesn't offer much information, but there are some reviews and photos here on TA.

I would highly recommend Lains Barn, just come back from my brothers wedding there this weekend and it was the BEST wedding I have been to by far...and I have been to a lot. Great staff, incredible food and a beautiful setting.

My daughter has booked to get married at Oxford Thames Four Pillars Hotel in Sandford just outside Oxford. Part of the building was an old barn. You could look at that and see if you like it. The wedding planner there, Sharon King, has been really helpful and I have been to another wedding there and it was pretty good. Also has the advantage of a beautiful riverside setting. Good Luck!

I'm not sure what the cost is but the Ashmoleum museum does wedding receptions.
