When will you be travelling? Date and day of the week please. It can make a difference as at some times there may be engineering works that could make the bus a better option than train. I prefer train and it is quicker, but not if there are engineering works!
Not sure of exact dates at this point.
If you have many suitcases, as we tend to, a taxi to Paddington is comfortable.
Cheapest way is to take the Hammersmith and City tube line to Paddington. This will bring you into a platform parallel, if not adjacent to, the overland line to Oxford. It is the most direct too! Do not take the Circle as this would involve quite a hike to the main Paddington terminus.Edited: 01 March 2014, 20:32
The Circle line will do exactly the same as the Hammersmith and City as they now share the same tracks all the way to Hammersmith. And the walk will still involve a change of platforms via a bridge. You can't just jump from LT to Network Rail without "touching out" with your Oyster or inserting your Underground ticket.
Mind you as the original poster hasn't been back with further information or even a 'thank you' then I'm left wondering why I even added to this thread.
