Is Hilton @ Victoria Quays (Furnival Rd) far to pubs/shops

We like to shop and drop a little before nightime sampling local pubs and restaurants etc. As will be on foot whilst there, are there any buses to take or would it be too far or unsafe for us to walk if staying at this Hilton - someone on the reivews said it was in a rather derelict area?

It's perfectly safe but a bit out of the way on the canal basin. Very quiet but not derelict.

Consider the Premier Inn and others in central Sheffield which will be close to shops in Fargate and close too to the tram for Meadowhall.

Pubs and restaurants in West Street and Devonshire Street are a short walk away. The Devonshire Cat pub is a good one but there are many others.

The map here may be helpful

The Hilton is roughly top right. Follow the tramlines to the left, the area along the tramlines from Castle Square to University is where you are likely to want to be.

Premier Inn Angel Street is your best bet for city centre unless you want to splash out and stay at the Mercure St Pauls or the Novotel they are both right next to the town hall
