what to do in Shrewsbury

We will be able to get to Shrewsbury using the local bus (from Little Stretton) next May.

Some advice on things to see while we are there for 3-4 hours would be appreciated.

Hi Dorothy,

Shrewsbury is a charming town - nice to potter around for a few hours. You don't say what types of things you're interested in - have you looked at the local tourism website for ideas?

I spent the better part of a day there last year just wandering around the streets, admiring the half-timbered buildings, popping into churches (St Chad's is very unusual and quite beautiful), visiting the famous abbey and town gardens, walking along the river. There's a castle, too - I didn't get there - and more than enough shops etc to keep you occupied. Enjoy your time there!

Weather permitting, a walk along the river in The Quarry is always enjoyable - and take the time to walk up to The Dingle to see the stunning flower displays. Other than that, just wander around the town and enjoy the ancient buildings.
