It would help if you gave us your budget.....

Holiday Inn Express is 5-10 minutes from the centre.

Does it have to be a hotel ? there are plenty of central B&Bs. Be aware that most accomodation will require a 2 night stay at weekends (though not the HIE)

Wow! I've just had a quick look for you.....

Try Highways House on 143 Wells Road perhaps. Yes, it is up a hill (get a bus or taxi back up if you are feeling lazy), but you can park up there. £90/night (couldn't spot if 2 night min stay, but it probably is).

I've been looking on Laterooms.com and on hotel websites direct

I would also suggest keeping an eye on late rooms sites

Bath always comes at a price so a central hotel would be at least twice your budget for a Saturday night

oh thanks. will have a look. in a panic. paid for a trip to thermae spa on the sun for hubby s birthday but no where to stay. such a short visit and it would be nice to fit in as much as we can but dont want to stay too far out! have to park though too.

may have to rethink budget?

do laterooms come up often?

Your main problem is it being Bath its one of the most expensive place to stay and parking can also be limited in central hotels and may well also come at an extra cost

I have also fancied a visit to bath but without a special deal or week end break you can be looking at several times your budget for one night

Have you looked at travel lodge

Or maybe a small b&b on the outskirts of town

Stay in a hotel in Bristol and get the train to Bath? Or maybe somewhere like Bradford on Avon?

"the fri til 11 and seems a lot to spend for this night."

True, but you would get a full day in Bath, with all it has to offer.

The way I read it your schedule is:

drive to Bath on Saturday

stay Saturday night

Spa on Sunday, then drive back to W Yorkshire

Correct ?

As I warned above, B&Bs will not do a single night at weekends, they want 2 nights: and they do this because they can, it is supply and demand.

The Belmont in central Bath charges £70 per night, no idea if they have vacancies: they can usually find parking. The place is very positively reviewed on TA, but so are loads of other places.

I mentioned the Holiday Inn Express, they have rooms available, about £140 for Fri and Sat nights.
