Woodbridge - activities late August

Hello,

My husband and I will be visiting Woodbridge for a week commencing next week. We enjoy live music and wondered if anyone has suggestions of local restaurants and pubs that feature live music close by that we should check out? Also, wondered if there are any "must see" places to visit that are a reasonable distance by car? Thanks for any suggestions in advance!!

Woodbridge itself is historic with many interesting old timber frame buildings typical of Suffolk and East Anglia.

Places of interest include the café/restaurant at the railway station, Woodbridge Tide Mill, the small Woodbridge Museum, the old town hall and square, churches, Buttram’s Windmill, independent shops and cafes, old pubs in and around the centre.

Places of interest to visit nearby include;

Bury St Edmunds

Aldeburgh

Southwold

Hadleigh

Kersey

Lavenham

Long Melford

Clare

Cavendish

Dedham

Ipswich

I don’t know about local venues with live music, hopefully someone else will see this and make some suggestions.

This site may help with the live music:

And this one specifically for Ipswich:

The Steamboat Tavern near the Ipswich waterfront is particularly popular for live music, but there are plenty of others too.

Hi Jade,

A few ideas here.

If you have any connections to the US Air Force then there are several (ex)airbases in the area.

Have a great time

Enjoy Woodbridge and surrounds. The Maybush is a nice pub on the river south of town. Snape Maltings is an interesting stop on the way to Aldeburgh.

Hi Jade,

I hope you enjoyed your visit to Woodbridge in the beautiful county of Suffolk. Next time you are this way you should check out this website - http://www.yourcommunitynews.co.uk - it has lots of information on where to eat and what to do, not only for Woodbridge but also the sourrounding areas such as Framlingham, Aldeburgh, Leiston, Saxmundham, Southwold, Halesworth, Debenham etc. Be sure to give it a look next time you are in the area!
