Weekday or Weekend Visit ? ?

I am not sure whether to visit on a weekday or a weekend. I know that a weekday may have less tourists around, but do the weekends have more activities or things to do, possibly markets ??

Thanks

Good question. It really depends what you want out of your visit.

It's a *lot* busier at weekends. We're only 18 miles from Birmingham, England's second largest city, and a weekend day out in Stratford is very popular with the Brummies. So if you want to visit the houses, for example, or the butterfly farm, or go on a boat trip, there is likely to be some queuing involved. Also, you will need to book ahead to get a table in a restaurant (but you can always get advice here about which restaurant to book).

But if you don't mind the crowds, there is more going on at the weekend. In particular, on the second and fourth Saturday there is the farmers' market (and through the Summer there are usually different events in the Market Place on the other Saturdays). Often on Sundays there are craft markets along Waterside. And also at the weekend there are often entertainers and Morris men performing on Bancroft Gardens.
