wedding brunch near registry office

Looking for a venue for wedding brunch for about 20 people, the Hyatt is obvious because of proximity to register office and parking but wonder if anyone has any ideas on this. There will be 3 toddlers too so it must be reasonably spacious and reasonably toddler friendly! Anybody know about city centre or botanic garden venues?

Thanks, maria

The register office is just yards from the "back" of the Mailbox (walking distance) and there are loads of bars and restaurants there.

I must admit I have never been to any, so cant suggest one.

A few are listed here (on the Mailbox website) but a few are outside the Mailbox on the canal side (by the new Cube building)

Try malamaison- They do not do weddings, but they can do a "function"- they are also suprisingly reasonable.

Your post does not expressly state that you want a venue akin to a wedding venue or whether you would be happy with a restaurant which can cater for a large party. I’ll try to do both. Hyatt, Malmaison, City inn, Radisson, Burlington Hotel and Hotel Du Vin all within 10 minutes walk and all very well suited to large parties and hosting weddings etc. They have space for kids and will be very child friendly. Restaurants which can cater for such a large party and which are child friendly are probably very few in the city centre. Bank and Piccolino’s are excellent. Both have a private dining section/room for large parties. Bank has a great terrace if it’s a nice day and both have a kids’ menu which is a bit more than nuggets and chips. The Mailbox has some wonderful bars and restaurants (if you have a nice day – Cote with its excellent terrace is fantastic) however, it is right by the canal (as are many restaurants in this area). This may not be ideal with kids running around. The Mailbox website lists them all with links to menus etc. If you wanted a really good pub lunch with excellent wines and ales, Penny Blacks is hard to beat – but again right by the canal. Hope these suggestions help – if you need more just ask.
