My 1,000 append I think.

The area around the NEC is rather strange.

There is the NEC, and the airport, and of course a few hotels, but almost nothing else nearby.

I have never stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, so have no idea what the food is like.

There is a pub called the Little Owl right next to the hotel.

It says on their web site "Our farmhouse-style inn with ample gardens is close to Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre and for your accommodation requirements the Holiday Inn Express Birmingham NEC is situated next to The Little Owl"

www.vintageinn.co.uk/thelittleowlsolihullnec/

Apart from that the hotel is very isolated and you would need a taxi to get anywhere else.

As Guilbert says the hotel is quiet isolated. If you're visiting the NEC there are places to eat within the centre, but other to that I think a taxi is the only way.

Thanks for the reply

We are just an overnighter before a flight so the Little Owl it will be. If it is poor at least we won't have to go back again :-)

Wash it down with a bottle of Pinot Grigio. You won't even know what the food tastes like then, lol.

Before you order your taxi, it may be worth while enquiring at the hotel reception about a courtesy bus. Many hotels near airports have them, but not sure if they charge or not.
