Airport hotel - Etap or Ibis

Hi all,

We're flying out from Birmingham airport on a morning flight in august and want to stay at a hotel the night before.

We've stayed at the Etap before, and although it's budget, we found it absolutely fine for what we wanted. The ibis next door is about £10 more. Has anyone been to both and if so which would your preference be and why?

Thanks in advance.

The Ibis will be ever so slightly 'better' - whether £10 better is up to you. At Birmingham I wouldn't bother - but if one were further away from the airport I'd choose the near one. I always prefer to walk to the terminal and not very far at that.

Etap Hotels are slowly being renamed IBIS Budget in some areas. But as it stands, IBIS hotels have a kettle in the room and a better inclusive breakfast, cooked and continental rather than just continental. Both IBIS and Etap/IBIS Budget have free wifi.
