First TransPennine Express First class or standard class

We are starting off our trip visiting relatives in the Warrington area. We are then on our way to Leeds. I found that there is a direct train on ranspennine Express and wondering if we should book 1st or 2nd class? What is the difference?

1. Re: First TransPennine Express First class or standard class

First class offers larger seats and more legroom. Also you get complimentary tea/coffee/water and a biscuit or two on services where catering is provided.

First class is more expensive, however, if you travel on a weekend or bank holiday with a second class ticket, you can upgrade to First Class on payment of a £6.00 single journey supplement to the Conductor between any two train stations on the First TransPennine route network.
