Football Games - Leeds United

We are coming to Leeds in January and will want to watch some football matches. My husband is a mad Leeds supporter - will we need to pre-purchase tickets to the game, and if so how do we do this as we are from New Zealand? We will be coming up from London so how far from the train station is the football stadium? Any other info you think we will need please say - thanks in advance.

Cheers

You can arrange to pick your tickets up on match day from the ticket office at the ground.

The train station to the football ground is 2.5 miles away. I would guess that a taxi would be £6 - £8 or follow the crowds. I've seen plenty of people walking it.

Forgot to mention, book train tickets well in advance as they are much cheaper this way.

Try www.eastcoast.co.uk and book Kings Cross London to Leeds Yorkshire. I recently booked some for £30 return, but that was 3 months in advance.

Janette, you will have no problem getting tickets for the game as they do not sell out nowadays.

We are going over for a game next weekend and there is no problem with tickets.

Enjoy your trip and the game.

Hi Janette

You don't necessarily have to walk from the train station. You can catch a No. 1 (Beeston) bus from outside the station in City Square and get off at the Co-operative supermarket. The football ground is at the bottom of Wesley Street directly opposite (5 mins walk away - just follow the crowd !) It'll cost £2.10 each way for each person.

If you put the postcode LS11 8PN into Google maps, you'll get a better idea
