More advice needed!

Everything booked now just a couple more questions please. Is there a hop on off tour bus in Cardiff? Secondly it will be our anniversary on the Friday when we arrive and we were wanting somewhere nice to eat .Staying in the Marriott but would take a taxi if it was worth it . Don't really want to spend anymore than £100 max .Any suggestions greatly appreciated .Thanks.

Cardiff has an open topped tourist bus that goes around the centre and also down to the seafront bay area, not sure if it is hop on hop off service.

You are really spoilt for restaurant choices, here's a nice one that is easily walkable from the Marriot:-

Just looked the tourist bus service up:- www.city-sightseeing.com/index.phtml…

As you can see you can hop on and off at any of the tour stops !

If you're looking for a nice meal, the Crown Social has just opened with celebrity chef Martin Blunos - it's the hotel restaurant in the Parc Thistle. I haven't seen a menu but it's supposed to be great. Have a lovely time!

The Madeira restaurant is lovely might be worth you booking a table as it can get very busy.

This is kind of tangential, but we are going to Wales this summer and plan to rent a car. It seems from forums that most people take buses. How is parking situation? Or should we leave car at hotel and take buses around?

You should really start your own thread if you want to maximise your replies but parking is not really a problem in Wales (other than in central Cardiff if there's a match on) and renting a car is the best way to see what is largely a rural country.

for special occassion i would say down The Bay The Bayside Brasserie.

The Maderia always seem to rush you as they want your table

Wherever you decide to eat, book in advance

Thanks Taffy ,I think we will go for Pearl of the Orient as although it might be a bit expensive it is our 42nd wedding anniversary weekend !! I think we will love the bay area .Will have a look at the Brasserie . Looking forward to Cardiff as we've never been there before and we love the welsh people as they're always so friendly have only been to the North of Wales so will let you all know how we got on .Thanks again.
