Back from lovely Swansea

Stayed in an apartment overlooking the Marina couldn't have chosen a better spot, near the Meridian Tower where we had coffee on the 28th floor what a view!! Swansea is compact, perfect for all shopping needs and plenty of eateries especially around the Marina.

Parked our car for the week and used the bus to travel along the coast to Mumbles one day and then Rhossili another time.

We visited Oxwich Castle in Mumbles then walked along the sea front to the pier which was not open then over the hill to Limeslade bay and then back to Mumbles village for lunch. Many cafes to choose from and then walked along the sea front back to our apartment and after the 5 mile we were a bit weary but happy to have had such a lovely day out.

The highlight of our stay was our visit to Rhossili on the Wednesday what a stunning coast line and beach, the weather was perfect sun and blue sky wonderful. Worms Head stood out in this perfect setting we loved it. After a pastie lunch all home baked in a small cafe we went down to the beach for a stroll on the golden sands and then it was a long climb back up and everyone we met on this walk was saying how worth the effort it all was. Must say that the lady in Mumbles Tourist Information gave us the best advice she was so helpful.

So pleased we came to Swansea the people are the friendliest we have come across in all our time of living in Wales!!

Could add so much more just come and visit the area if you can.

think the castle in mumbles may be oystermouth castle not oxwich castle.

there is an oxwich castle which is up the hill above oxwich bay.

what a difference the weather makes. Just returned from a great weekend in Swansea where we went to a wedding at the registry office. When we grouped up at the back of the town hall for photographs it the views were mediterranean. We walked over to the town hall cafe for drinks and it was wonderful. Also enoyed our trips along the coast. Swansea is a great base for enjoying the coast.
