Weobley Castle

Will be staying in Swansea a few days, visiting Kidwelly Castle, and interested in Weobley, but companion partially disabled. Is it possible to see Weobley from the road?

Any other suggestions for touring that do not require a lot of walking?

bracelet bay = at mumbles head has a big car park with cafe with views over mumbles lighthouse.

rhossilli bay = can see worms head from car park with worms head hotel bar and bay bistro a few yards away for drinks and snacks.

oxwich bay = park on beachfront car park or at oxwich bay hotel car park and use hotel terrace garden over looking beach.

port eynon bay = park at pay and display a few yards from beach with restaurant and shop close.

My memory from visiting Weobley castle 6 years ago is that you cannot see it from the highway but that you can get very close when you drive down the access road.

It's been a long time since I was there, but here is the CADW information page for Weobley Castle.

Here's a link which you might find useful, it's a page by 'Accessible Countryside'. It highlights tourist spots in Swansea and surrounding areas that are suitable for anyone with disabilities...

Yes, you can "see" Weobley from it's car park, but I'm afraid it's not much of a view as it is still a couple of hundred yards distant and is tucked in behind some outbuildings.

A better bet would be Oxwich Castle (just up the road from Oxwich Bay beach) - the main structure and dovecote is clearby in view and close by to its car park.

BTW, Kidwelly is a great castle ruin and good choice since it is very accessible as it's car park is directly adjacent to the main gatehouse.
