For the benefit of travellers I advise that there have been a number of recent changes with the layout of the airport.
In the terminal itself the upstairs dining areas are now only available to passengers who have checked in and gone through security. This means that there are only very limited eating/drinking options pre-check-in. This is because the airport is no longer encouraging non-fliers to actually enter the terminal building itself.
There is no longer any pick up or drop off facility immediately outside the terminal itself. This must now be done in separate part of the old short stay car park about 200 metres from the terminal entrance. There is a covered walkway between these two areas. The only vehicles now allowed outside the terminal are buses and airport taxis (which are more expensive than other taxi firms but which must now be met in the new pick up area.
The Translink Metro bus service to central Belfast now has its stop to the right of the main terminal exit door rather than to the left.
