In central Belfast, my personal favourite is Rhubarb on Little Victoria Street (just off Great Victoria Street !) - why I especially like breakfast is because they offer lots of alternatives to the Ulster Fry - open from 8.00 am

Maggie Mays in Botanic Avenue used to be good - I haven't been in a while and Cafe Avoca in Arthur Street is getting good reports from friends

you should nip out fo the city centre to Dundonald and go to the Zodiac cafe for an award winning Ulster fry - it's offically the best fry in NI!

Lol @ "heartatache on a plate."

Brights is good, though only opens at 9 bells. It has won awards. . . .

If a fry's your thing it would be hard to go past Brights - proper old fashioned chip shop and the staff are usually nice as well. If you want more choice definitely Avoca - it's a lot pricier but you get eg porridge (yummy by the way), scones, scrambled eggs, fruit salad etc.

Just make sure and refrain from staring at the Bright's staff for any longer than, errr, a second, to ensure not getting a slap. lol.
