You probably need to change in Belfast.

NI Railways website: www.translink.co.uk/Services/NI-Railways/

There is also a direct Goldline coach:

As someone who works for the railway I'd say it might be better taking the bus from Derry to Belfast, then take the train for the rest. The bus is quicker, although the scenery isn't as nice. If you take the bus you will arrive in the Europa Bus Centre in Belfast (aka Great Victoria St railway station) and from here you will need to get a train round to Central railway station to catch the train to Dublin (or get a taxi for about £4-5). If you take the train from Derry to Belfast however just get off at Central Station (Belfast) and connect to Dublin from there without any messing about.

There are two bus services from Derry to Dublin. One is the No.33 Service operated by Bus Eireann and the other is the X4 service operated by Ulsterbus. The train route is scenic but very time consuming between Derry and Belfast
