Bus from Dublin to Derry

Hello, We will be traveling from NY to Derry for the Fleadh in August. We plan to take the bus from Dublin airport to Derry. I was able to locate a schedule online, but not fares. How much should we expect to pay to get to Derry? Any special senior or student rates? Should we buy a round trip ticket? Do we pay the driver or is there somewhere in the airport to purchase tickets?

Are taxis readily available once we arrive in Derry?

Thanks in advance!!

You should have no problem getting a taxi in Derry. There is a taxi rank just outside the bus station. Fares are £3 - £3.50 for trips within City environs. If you are arriving on late bus (10pm) and there are none available at the rank just call Foyle Taxi's on 028 7126 3905 or 0044 28 7126 3905 if your cell is international.

Bus from Dublin to Derry will be with the national carrier in Republic of Ireland - Bus Eireann. It is possible to buy 7 day return, there are student discounts with valid student ID. Pay on bus. See this link: www.buseireann.ie/pdf/1360760073-033.pdf

Normal fare is €25 and round trip is €35 from the airport to Derry. You can get a 10% discount when booking online in advance or you can purchase a ticket on boarding the bus - but I see it is very difficult to actually purchase this online! Best purchase on bus.
