Hiking in Sctoland - End of August

Hi,

I'm planning on taking a week long vacation in late August.

Very Interested in hiking/walking around. Had a great time couple of years ago hiking in Switzerland.

Would greatly appreciate any suggestions/recommendations...

Thanks!

Have a look at www.visitscotland.com which has a special section on walking in scotland.

Also www.undiscoveredscotland.com is an excellent site for inspiration.

Are you thinking of walking the west highland way, or heading straight for the highlands to hike around there?

We've done some hiking on the Isle of Skye and around the Kyle of Lochalsh.

On Skye - Old Man Storr & The Quirang are good hikes with breathtaking views.

Kyle of Lockalsh:

The Five Sisters of Kintail

Glomach Falls

Ben Nevis

Scotland is so beautiful - have fun.

Hi

The previous posters have given you some great links.

If you fancy company on your walks two options are www.cndoscotland.com and www.hfholidays.co.uk/classicwalking/scotland/ - I have a friend who used to guide for the latter and they offer a good variety of choice of routes and options.

otherwise there are lots of options - see walking.visitscotland.com for ideas.

By the way, after 12th August there is grouse shooting on some land - so access can occasionally be restricted - it is not usually a problem - and never is on a Sunday.
