discount tickets

are there any discounts available for tourist? In Ireland there were a couple of discount cards that we could download for % off or 2-4-1 admission.

Is there anything like this for Scotland.

Thank you for info.

Can you be more specific about where exactly you are planning to visit and what you plan to do?

Discounts for various attractions vary hugely and some places don't offer discounts at all.

There is the Edinburgh Pass which covers more of the commercial rather than the heritage attractions and is good value IF you are planning to visit a good number of the places anyway.

For wider use across Scotland's heritage sites such as Castles, stately homes, gardens etc there are 2 schemes which cover different groups of sites : http://www.historic-scotland.gov.uk/explorer useful if you plan to visit Edinburgh and Stirling Castle for example it pays for itself already.

For a pass that includes the National Trust properties too, then there is this one. historic-scotland.gov.uk/index/places/travel…

You can also look at the National Trust for Scotland - if you want to visit lots of their properties a membership may save a little.

Restaurants - there are the usual groupon discounts - have heard a few people on TA saying that's a good idea, others saying they got substandard or limited service.
