Planning a trip for late June. Family of four with two young adults. Interested in history, nature, photography.
Day 1 - arrive in London, early morning. Take train to York. Explore city. Spend night.
Day 2 - York. Spend night.
Day 4 -drive towards Oban, via Loch Lomand and Kilmartin (would like to see archeological sites in Kilmartin area ). Arrive in Oban for two nights.
Day 5 - take three islands tour out of Oban ( Mull, Iona, and Staffa) overnight in Oban
Day 6 - drive towards Ft. William , taking in Kilchurn Castle, St. Columba chapel, and Glencoe on way. Overnight near Ft. William. ( wondering if we could make it closer towards Skye this night? )
Day 7 - explore Skye ( husband really wants to visit here.....I'm wondering if it worth an extra night, staying in Portree )
Day 9 - Edinburgh.
Day 10 - take afternoon train back to London
Days 10 - 13 or 14 - London
Realize this is barely scratching the surface....will need to come back one day!
Thank you for any advice you may have.
