Traveling from Edinburgh to Inverness

Which train line is recommended? We will not need a car once in Inverness.

There is only one direct train line. You can choose to travel on a scotrail train or a East Coast mainline train. Only really differences are within 1st class (in my experience).

Some trains require a change in Perth.

It's a nice simple journey. Book online with the Scotrail or East coast websites.

Came down yesterday and going back tomorrow. I prefer East Coast trains, especially First Class but Scotrail is fine and it's the same view after all!!
