Week itinerary

Two are traveling to Scotland this July. Starting in Edinburgh, hiring a car and want to visit Glencoe, Mull, maybe Iona, Loch Lomon, back to Edinburgh. Any advice on how to spread these out over seven days? Would it be too much to add Isle of Arran or Cumbrae? Where do I go to map out the routes? We don't want to spend too much time in the car but want to see a variety of landscapes.

Hi, and welcome -

To be honest, there's little point in suggesting routes, unless you know where you will be staying. If you haven't booked anywhere yet, I'd advise do so now.

Possible route - Stirling - Trossachs - Callander - GlenCoe - Oban - Mull - Iona - Staff (boat trip) - Mull - Oban - Inverary - Arrochar - Loch Lomond - Edinburgh.

Or, after Inverary, head west to Crinan Canal and Claonaig for short ferry to Arran. Arran. Then main ferry to Ardrossan.

Apart from the Conaig ferry, you must book all ferries, as they get busy.

Ferry - www.calmac.co.uk.

Lots of different options. All good. Enjoy
