There are four trains per hour between Edinburgh Waverley Station and Glasgow Queen Street Station. The journey takes approximately 50 minutes.

Yes, train from Waverley or Haymarket to Queen St, 50 mins with 4 trains per hour most of the day.

If you wait until 0930 then a off peak return is only £12:30

Queen st is right in the middle of Glasgow City Centre.
