Rates for tours via local taxis?

Hi there!

Well, I've heard you can hire a taxi to actually take you around for some touring, and was wondering what a reasonable rate would be? So far I've been quoted 150 pounds for 6-7 hours including gas. I don't mind paying, just want to make sure it's a fair rate.

Oh, the area I have in mind is the Isle of Skye.

Thanks!

If it's a taxi and within the local council area (which Skye will be) then the rate is set by the local council and programmed into the taximeter (including waiting time).

If it's a Private Hire or a taxi operating outside the council area, then subject to agreement.

£150 for car and driver for a day doesn't sound excessive.

Thanks... it's a private hire. Sounds like it's worth it, since we don't want to drive ourselves, and it's always enjoyable to have a local who knows the area.

Cheers!
