Mini Aberdeen visit--what to see? Advice, please!

I will be visiting Aberdeen on a business trip early next month, and have a block of around 6 hours on my last day to spend sightseeing and soaking up as much local culture as I can. That being said, what would you suggest I spend that time doing? I will be staying at the DoubleTree by Hilton, which I need to stop back by on my way out to pick up my luggage, so it would probably be better to stay somewhat close to that area. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Your hotel is by the beach which is a lovely area. You could go down to the main beach and walk along to Footdee which is a nice fishing village.

Actually have a look at these two walks:

They both take you through nice, historic parts of Aberdeen and you can start/finish them at the beach.

Of course this is all kind of weather dependant. If it's raining you could go to the Art Gallery, Maritime Museum or Tolbooth Museum. This website tells you more about them http://www.aagm.co.uk/home/home.aspx

They are free, but please note the Art Gallery and Maritime Museum are closed on Mondays.

As above in six hours a good idea would be to walk up from your hotel to the castlegate, go along and have a look at Marshial college then head to the maritime museum. From the maritime museum you can walk past the harbour, through fittie and back to your hotel. A circular route.

The maritime museum is good because it covers the sea/harbour and the offshore side of Aberdeen. The walk up will give you a view of the length of union street too.

Some good suggestions already but much depends on you own personal interests.

I' m thinking St Machars Cathedral but it would be best if you had a look at some more ideas and choose a couple of things that appeal to you most.

Start by having a look here-http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attractions-g186487-Activities-Aberdeen_Aberdeenshire_Scotland.html#TtD
